I intended posting a pic like this on mid summer's day but it was wet and overcast.
Took this just before I went to bed last night.
There's only a few hours of darkness this time of year - when I woke up at 3am the sky was beginning to brighten and I was almost tempted to get up to see the dawn.
My friend who is home on holidays from LA loves these bright nights which she remembers from when she grew up here.
Obviously this is not a great shot from a technical point of view - for that I'd need a long exposure with a tripod but it was too late for that sort of thing.
