Shoot Something

As inspiration, and sunshine, is sadly lacking today, I decided to adapt the advice from Warren Zevon's Ice Hockey Song. So, instead of 'hit somebody' I've decided to 'shoot something'.
Not much caught my eye except these plants on the kitchen windowsill.
Nothing special about them and it's times like this that I really miss not having a macro lens.

Nikon D7000
1/80s f/3.2 at 50.0mm iso640 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

not sure if macro is necessary here...the wider view looks fine..

That window light is so appealing. They look so soft and succulent!

What a beautiful little cactus! :)
I agree with Ann, a macro lens is a Christmas must-have!

Very nice shapes and tones here.
Why not try extension tubes if a macro isn't on the cards yet?

But you still made a super photo. I like the light and the point of view. The depth of field is very nice too and they are both pretty plants. V.

They're both very nice plants. I should put a macro lens on your Christmas list! ;)
