A Pheasant Evening

Was thrilled to come upon this fellow as I walked around a corner on
the lane near our house.
I knew that there was a pheasant in the locality and had watched our neighbour's lambs trying to get up close and personal with him one evening when, naturally, I was carrying a laundry basket rather than a camera.
Luck was with me this evening as he stayed still long enough for me to get a shot before strutting off down the lane ahead of me.
