Wilted

These are the sunflowers I bought on my trip to Malahide last week.
It was probably a bit optimistic to think that they would be happy in Ireland in March.
I placed them in the kitchen window so they would get the benefit of last week's warm sunshine but they still wilted much quicker than I had expected.
They could hard look much more sorrowful if I put them outside in the
sleet and snow which is falling tonight.
I'm feeling somewhat wilted myself as I have the sniffles so please
forgive me if I fall behind with commenting.

At least they still have their colour. Pity about the flowers (even more a pity about the sniffles... it's spring there, you're supposed to be getting healthier!) but the droop of the stems really is suggestive of someone who is a bit under the weather.

Beautiful faded blooms image Mairead...My sister in law bought me a hydranger plant that is sitting in the kitchen as I try to keep it alive...I dont understand why in Sweden they think this garden plant survives indoors!...Get well soon...think we will all have the sniffles if the temperatures continue to go up and back down to freezing every other day...BV

There's still a lot of beauty in their gracefully relaxed shapes! But snow and sleet? A nightmare!

there are Proprietary compounds that can be bought for flowers in vases etc to lengetn life . I think sugar in the water is a help too .

Oh my, these look under the weather, guess watering won't bring them back?
Hope you feel better!

What a shame that they didn't last. They'll still be good for photos though :)
I hope that your sniffles go pdq!

They're really beautiful in this state too. It's a moody but pretty look. V.

Oh too bad. And I'm sorry you are under the weather too! Get some rest so you won't be wilted too. :)
