Village Daffs

The flowers are blooming, the birds singing, the lambs springing, but
still the sun don't shine.
Another overcast day so just pulled over to get a quick pic of these daffs in Ballymascanlon Village on my way home for lunch.

Lovely composition of daffs against a picturesque backdrop. There are times when colors on an overcast day look brighter than in sunshine. This is one of those times. V

Plenty of time for sunshine later but the daffs will only be about for a while. Looks as though they may have prompted this home owner to paint his window frames.

At least the vibrant yellows of the daffs provide an approximation of sunshine. I like the inclusion of the thickly-painted old style window frame as well as the masonry; combined with the flowers it gives a quiet village feel.
