Getting Ready

The weather has been unrelentingly dull and dreary for several days now with the sun remaining firmly hidden behind grey clouds.
These novelty hats were the only bit of colour which I came across on my way for coffee today. I'm not really too keen on some of the cliches which get aired around St Patrick's Day but at least this display was something to point my camera at.

Ah yes, it's that time of year again! It does provide a bit of vibrancy though.

As much as I like holidays they are becoming as you mentioned cliches and an excuse for more products and overindulgence.

looks as if they are set for a night of fun here...the jester hat seems unusual, at least it's in the colours of the flag..

This image has a wonderfully spring-like feeling even on a dark day!

Good find for the day! I suppose we need an excuse to celebrate after a long hard winter, bad economy and global disasters...

That's a neat green hat for the upcoming celebrations.

Lovely colour in this festive display. St. Patrick's Day is a provincial holiday in Newfoundland so people are happy to have a long weekend this year. V

I really like is the way the doll inside the window seems to be smiling at you in approval of you taking the picture

I think it's fun, actually ;-). Nice bit of color in your dreary day and a good reminder of "the" day on Saturday.
