Times Past

What is it about times past that is so alluring? We often think of times gone by in highly romanticised way, forgetting that life was hard then without the modern conveniences we take for granted.
When I was younger I loved to imagine that had I lived in a previous century, I would have worn the most beautiful of ball-gowns and gone to the ball in a horse-drawn carriage. The of reality of history is that I most likely would have been a parlour maid cleaning out the ashes!
Times are hard now for many but no harder than they have been in the past.
It's important to enjoy what we have and not to hanker after what we haven't.

Go see 'Midnight in Paris'. It deals with exactly that subject. But your family history is an extremely well worth while thing to pursue

Good philosophy. Did you ever see that Owen Wilson film "Midnight In Paris"? If not I won't spoil the plot but it deals with some of the same principles. The old style necklace is the perfect accompaniment to the old style photo. I've noticed that you've been going on a bit of a nostalgia trip from time to time in some of your shots and it's been working well.
