First Day of Spring?

Traditionally February 1st is regarded as the first day of Spring in Ireland but personally I think that's a wee bit optimistic. It's colder now than it was for much of December and these daffs were bought in the supermarket even though there was a story in the local paper about a woman who found daffodils blooming in her garden before Christmas. Commercial growers are also reporting that their daffs are flowering a full month earlier than usual.
With this spell of cold dull weather I've been suffering from a real bout of 'photographer's block'. Writer's block I can deal with but I am finding it difficult to get the inspiration to take my camera out and about when there's no sunshine or light.

Very pretty, popping colors! I saw real daffodils blooming in someone's yard today, so I suppose spring is here in south Texas. V

We're about 22*F about normal in the Philly area today. I think that we hit a high of about 64*F today! I'm ready for snow! :)

Yes, your block has been noticed. But that's what Labs and cats are for! Nice colour scheme on this one; cut back to just the essential tones. The same is also true of the shapes. Maybe that's what's needed when the dreaded block strikes; a nice still life that gets "back to basics". I shall try that myself next time I have it...

The calendar may try to tell us otherwise but if daffs are flowering I'll believe it :0)
