A Walk on New Year's Day

It was sunny but very windy and rather cold when we took Fudge to the beach at Shellinghill today. Getting out for a good walk is something I like to do on New Year's Day, a vague link with the notion of resolutions for the coming year, and it seemed that lots of other people had the same idea.
I've also put together a gallery of mostly low light images taken in
December which I thought I'd best put together before the festive
season is over which you can see:

Good light; keeping the sun just out of frame and allowing it to warm the sky leading on to the beach worked well. Nice timing of the wave too; it's just at the point when it conveys that sense of motion, and provides something of an echo of the shape of the hill on the right.
I agree with the sentiment; New Year's day seems to be a way of, if not actually making "resolutions", at least clearing your mind for the coming year... until work and life starts hitting it from all sides and blow away all those good intentions and plans.
