Budget Blooms

On budget day it is perhaps extravagant to buy flowers but
these were budget blooms, calling to me from the half-price bucket.
Besides, next month they will be even dearer with VAT increased on
non-essential items which, a colleague told me with disgust, includes
chocolate digestive biscuits.

creamy purity in the white rose, a treat to remember once the VAT increase takes effect...the American revolution was given impetus by a protest against taxed tea, in a like spirit perhaps Leinster House should be made vividly aware of the mean-spiritedness in taxing such a modest pleasure as a chocolate digestive biscuit...V
