Will it, won't it?

Work is nearly completion on the multi million Euro revamp of Dundalk's Market Square. It's supposed to be finished by Friday for the switching on of the new illuminated water spouts (not sure if that's what you call them) and a Christmas market. It's been a major project which necessitated road closures, much to the displeasure of the town centre traders. However, the general consensus is that it looks well and if we get a bit of sunshine, we might just have people sitting out on the pavement, sipping a cappuccino while updating their facebook status as there's free wi-fi.

It's hard to get those right. We've had so many open, public spaces which were created with the best of intentions but which became deserted, windswept concrete wastelands. If there's a decent cafe, and enough seating, and enough trees, and illuminated water spouts, it might work. It'd be interesting to see a shot of it once it's been open for a while and see what the outcome is.

A very interesting image of this work in progress. The sun so nicely illuminates the background. And I like all the red and blue in front.

Sounds cool, the water sprouts sound like a good picture in the making.
