Hidden History

I've walked past this building countless times. I've often looked at the peeling poster and thought it would make an interesting photo. But today was the first time I ever noticed the writing underneath 'Donnelly's Medical Hall'.
I don't ever remember there being a pharmacy in the building. Thirty years ago there was an excellent bakery and more recently, a small corner shop, although that closed a few years ago and now the shop is empty. Perhaps it was the angle of the morning sunlight which highlighted this piece of hidden history.

The colours are beautiful, and the light is hitting them in just the right way to highlight. Gorgeous shot and interesting info. V

you've got the compelling image...now to flesh out the story...Donnelly's perhaps an early pharmacy, and so a hotbed for local stories...light, shadows, and marine palette are wonderful...V

Very well spotted, must be the light that drew your trained eye to the writing. Yep, now you need to research it and let us all know the answer.

Lovely textures, and a tantalising puzzle for a journalist.

A great find. Love the greens and textures. It makes me melancholy to think of the shoppes that have been there and the people who no longer are going through the door. V
