Seeing the Light

I love photography, I love Pbase, but of late, I'm finding that trying to
achieve a strict Photo A Day Gallery isn't working for me. I have lots
of other things in my life as well as photography and Pbase, a family
and a job, a dog and summer days. Some days I take several pics
fit for public display, others it's a struggle to find one fresh image.
So I'm thinking I'm going to relax the rules, post my best images,
even if they weren' t taken that day, and dump the rubbish or
mediocre ones.

Nice composition and tranquil feel to this. I must admit it does seem a bit like creating a 'rod for your own back' and must take away a bit of the fun - I vowed I would spend less time this year on Pbase

very beautiful light and mood ! v

What the others have said :o) So glad you posted this though - I love church interiors as well, and the light in this shot is really something...fab shot, and don't feel pressurised, after all rules are there to be broken :o)

I'm with you on this one, life occasionally gets in the way, enjoy your photography and forget the PAD Police. Love the shot BTW

well seen light...both the strong and the subtle...posting only same day photos does seem onerous...relatively recent is fine and allows doing away with deadlines and compromises...V

Yup, been through the same thing myself. I'm going to persist with a strict photo a day (less so with posting them every day) for this calendar year just to see whether I can do it, but after that I may follow your lead. The only real concern about not PADing is the possibility of sliding back into the old "feast or famine" habits, which is A Bad Thing. However this one would be worth including, on the day or not. This one is all about the light... colour, direction, intensity (or subtlety in this instance)... which, when you come down to it, is the object of the exercise.

Such a wonderful image. I'm glad you had the time on that day! I suspect a lot of us don't always post a picture that was taken the same day. Close is close enough, to my way of thinking.

It is best that you post when you can. :)

Gorgeous light and creatively composed. Photography is a pleasure, so do not be pressured to post every day, post what you like and whenever you like. This one is impeccable! BV

What great detail you have captured, both in the window an the reflections.
Relaxed rules work just fine!

Beautiful! I am sure no matter what, you will continue to be creative! ~V

A very beautiful shot of light and shadow ... a lovely thoughtful mood set. I appreciate all of the images and the narratives that you post no matter when... ~V~

I admit that I only add a photo to my photo a day album when I happen to take them. If I do not take any for a few days, then I don't post any to that gallery. I do allow myself two days to get a photo posted.

This photo is beautifully composed with gorgeous light. V

I like the shapes and the bits of light in this one! V

I hear you Mairead. I may end up doing the same someday. This is a very nice shot with the different materials and textures, both physical and in light. V
