Making up for a lost weekend

Having missed out on the beautiful spring weather at the weekend as I was
covering the election count, I was delighted to be able to take Fudge to
the beach at Shellinghill this afternoon. I finish early on Tuesdays and
resisted the temptation to go shopping in order to get some fresh
air and let Fudge gallop on the sand. He's nine months old now and bursting
with energy. Even though he gets taken for two or three 30 minute walks
every day, he really needs to get to the beach to burn off all that Labrador
exuberance. There were lots of other dog walkers at the beach and Fudge
kept running up and introducing himself - luckily enough all the other
dogs were friendly.

This is beautiful. I love the lines in the sand and the frozen wave action. Silhouettes in the background show the fun. This is really really good work. V

Sounds like Fudge has way too much energy. I'm surprised he didn't try to swim to those distant mountains in the background! What a gorgeous day!

A fantastic photo. I love the color and light and the composition is superb. You take Fudge to some beautiful places - or does Fudge take you there. :)

Wonderful golden glow.

The sky looks more Martian than Irish; makes for an interesting effect. I like the way the short exposure has frozen the movement of the water "mid wave"; it almost looks sculpted. The figures in the distance may be small but are enough to convey what's happening, and give a nice sense of openness and expanse of the beach.

I love the soft golden colours here Mairead
