Had a day off today and as it was dull and misty, I decided to devote the
morning to taking Fudge for a walk rather than a photography
expedition. After dropping our son at school, I took Fudge to The
Navy Bank, which runs along the other side of Dundalk Bay to
where we live. It was busy with people exercising their dogs and walkers
exercising themselves.
It's very popular with townspeople but I couldn't really see its attraction,
apart from the opportunity to let dogs run off the lead. Mostly it
runs through the sort of scrubby urban open space that somehow
evaded being developed during the construction boom of the Celtic
Tiger and past the town's sewerage treatment plant with its
distinctive pong. Although Fudge was tired and happy at the end
of the walk, I won't be going there again as there are much nicer
walks in the countryside.
