I love this sculpture by artist Ann Meldon Hugh. It was commissioned by the local council under the
Per Cent Per Art Scheme which set aside money from any development for a piece of public art.
This stands at Soldier's Point which is on the opposite side of Dundalk Bay to where I live. It's a
popular spot for townspeople to go walking, with good views across to Slieve Gullion and the Cooley
Mountains. I nipped down there for a few minutes today as I finish work early on Tuesdays and had
time for a brief detour after grocery shopping and before picking my son up from school. The
weather has turned colder again, with frost overnight, and bright sunny days.
