What a difference a day makes! Apart from a couple of really torrential showers, one of which forced me
to seek refuge in a clothes shop for 20 minutes (no I didn't buy anything), it's been warm and sunny today.
Took Fudge and our teenage son up to Gyles Quay this evening. The tide was fully in, covering the
sandy beach. We walked along the pier instead and Fudge got to meet a friendly sheepdog.
Gyles Quay, or The Quay as it's commonly known, was once a popular holiday location for people
from Dundalk, all of seven miles away. Many families spent their entire holidays in caravans, with
the fathers joining them at the weekend.
