On our way home from handing Felix back to his owners (see yesterday's post), we stopped
off at Kells to see the High Crosses and Round Tower.
A monastery was founded there in 807AD by monks fleeing the Viking invasion of Iona.
It was here that the famous Book of Kells was created. At one stage there were five
High Crosses in the monastery grounds - this one, the Cross of Patrick and Columba,
is the oldest remaining and stands beside the Round Tower.
