Apologies to Thin Lizzy whose great song 'The Boys Are Back In Town' inspired the title for today's pic.
This field near our house has turned into an ante-natal ward for sheep as our neighbour has moved his
ewes into it in advance of the lambing season, which in these parts gets underway around St Patrick's
Day although I have seen a couple of new born lambs on other farms.
Getting a shot of the ewes was the easy option on a busy overcast day. I sometimes wonder if
I resemble a sheep farmer such is their enthusiasm when they see me approaching and I fear
it may be a case of mistaken identity as I'm sure they don't all want to get their pics on Pbase.
Thanks to everyone for their kind comments yesterday. We did shed a few tears for poor Patch but
were mindful that he was only a dog. There is a worrying increase in suicides among young
people in Ireland and this week two families not too far from here are mourning the deaths
of young women who should have had their lives ahead of them.
