With Valentine's Day approaching, red hearts and roses are appearing in the most unusual of places and not
just florists. There are big red hearts in the window the hair salon near where I work, tempting boxes of
chocolates in heart shaped boxes in the newsagents, and I even saw three Pink Lady apples in a heart-sharped package in the supermarket.
These heart shaped decorations caught my eye as I enjoyed a welcome break in a lavishly decorated
coffee shop this morning. And appropriately enough they were located underneath a pile of romantic
fiction which customers are invited to dip into while drinking their coffee. Think I'd prefer to pick
up a newspaper though.
