Many years ago I first heard the saying that “the new grey is blonde” as more and more women faced the challenge of greying hair by dyeing it blonde. I’ve been dyeing my hair since I was a teenager in the sixties and truly didn’t know what its real colour might be. A recent bout of illness has forced me to stay away from the bottle of dye, and now I must learn to live with my grey head. But… I shall be liberated from expensive hairdressing bills from now on. The only problem is that I don’t look very much like the person on my passport or my driver’s licence!
