A smattering of church ruins are found in a community called Onaght, on Inishmore in the Aran Islands.
Here, we had it to ourselves for about 20 minutes before a larger tour bus arrived.
Historic maps show this place as the burial site of Saint Brecan.
Also known as Dísert Bhreacáin, it was, for centuries, one of the biggest monastic foundations
and centers of pilgrimage along the west coast of Ireland.
