Our grandsons are visiting. Even though they each have a couple of wands from their birthday parties
(see http://www.pbase.com/m4/image/160765329 and http://www.pbase.com/m4/image/165426863), they said they wanted another one each (apparently you can never have too much money or too many wands!)
I involved them in the production of their wands where it was safe--selection of wood(s),
design and shape of the handles and tips, some sanding, and applying a finish.
The bottom wand (for the younger grandson, age 7) is made from wormy Gabon ebony, with the handle he wanted.
The top wand (for the elder, age 11) has wormy Gaboon ebony sandwiched in holly, with caragana highlights.
