Nature 8272818

Prairie gopher, AKA Richardson's ground squirrel. Found pretty much everywhere on the prairies.
Usually pretty skittish, but this one let me get pretty close, and probably would have let me get
even closer, except that a fly came by to annoy him, so he scooted off.
