Peech

An outdoor clay oven (called a 'peech' in Ukrainian) was a common item on many farms.
A fie was built inside the hollowed-out oven, and allowed to burn down to embers.
Enough heat was stored in the clay walls that bread would then be baked in the oven.

I bet the bread that came out of this primitive oven tasted great too! V
