Black Rat Snake

Largest snake seen to date around the pond, maybe six feet or more, apparently sunning itself.
Round eye pupil indicates that it is not poisonous.
Found about 20 feet from shore of pond.
The wire fence around the tree is the only sure defense against beavers.
