Spearfishing: A few pictures were taken early of the bird. I came out later to see it still there and at a shorter distance away. After about 30 minutes of almost no movement it speared the fish. It swallowed the fish in about 45 seconds and flew off. Unless it caught something between 8:30 and 10:30, it had spent at about three hours on its breakfast. All shots using 80-400 mm VR lens braced by hand against a tree. It was a fairly dark, overcast morning.
Great Blue Heron and Dragonfly: A Jade Clubtail dragonfly landed on the bird's perch and was rapidly picked up then let go.
