My mom was in the Navy. She was one of the first women to enlist in the Waves. She was stationed in Pearl Harbor during WWII. Later she worked in Washington D.C.

She and the other Waves were honored when they dedicated the WWII monument in D.C. She got to attend and meet up with the few from that first group that are still living.

My mom is 86.
