Mt. Kenya, June 9, 2006

We were given a choice to today to relax, or explore Sweetwaters. We picked 'explore' as that's what we do best! Driving through Nanyuki, we went to Sweetwaters Game Reserve, for a small game run, a visit to the Jane Godall Chimpanze Sanctuary and a small little hike to find Morani, who was WAY out in the bush today. Back in Nanyuki, we stopped at The Nanyuki Spinners and Weavers project, a self-help project for local single women. We learned how the wool from the sheep became beautiful rugs, mats and wall hangings. Jim spend the afternoon wandering the grounds taking pictures, while Lynda spent the afternoon wandering around Iris Hunt's Animal Orphanage. In the evening, as it was our last night together as a group, Micato hosted a pre-dinner cocktail party, followed by a wonderful time dancing up a storm in the bar.
