Samburu to Mt Kenya May 27, 2009

Last night we were awoken by a few animals, pretty sure it was a Cape buffalo that was crossing the river, and then came sniffing around the tent. It is a wonderful feeling being so close to nature, but it does make for a 'light' sleep!
After a wonderful champagne breakfast send off, as we were leaving the park Daniel spotted WILD HUNTING DOGS! We were all pretty excited, this was his first spotting of wild dogs as well! They were pretty far away, but Jamie - aka Jonathon Scott - managed to at least get them in his lens - none of the rest of us even managed that!
We drove through Isiolo south to Nanyuki, stopped to shop for a bit and then turned into Mt. Kenya Safari Club top just 'relax' and soak in the atmosphere for the next two days. We stayed in the William Holden Cottages, newly renovated & really cool!
