A bit of a nothing day today. Pottered about the house with Liam (weather wasn't up to much), watched some TV, did some tidying. Took Liam to his guitar lesson, then I went to CLAYPOTTS CASTLE (after having cleaned the camera lens!). Funny thing... I have relatives who live just along the road from this castle, and I must have driven past it hundreds of times without ever noticing it - yet it is right beside the main road at a busy junction (and it has houses on three sides)!

Love the black and white with this, and the composition is perfect too, with it sort of lurking there behind the tree in full sight. It's too funny though, that you've been in search of castles in godforsaken places and missed this one till now!

What an interesting looking building. That guard house (?) perched on top of the tower looks nuts. B&W really suits this shot & the view through the trees makes it hard to believe your so close to civilisaton.
