34. Dundee Docks

24 May 2004

34.
When we were at Auchterhouse yesterday, I noticed that my car was leaking petrol from the tank. This morning I took it to the Renault garage, and they told me it would take a couple of hours to fix it - not long enough to warrant me walking home and then back again - so I walked down to Dundee Docks (for the first time) and was struck by the sheer desolation in an area that once employed several thousand skilled men and women.

Desolate for sure but I think the abundance of clouds contrasts that quite well and may even add a touch of irony.

It does look like desolate. But after their win this weekend, Renault should be doing all service free for a week to celebrate. Even though Michael still got most the press.

Desolate & gloomy. The clouds add to the photo's mood. Nice shot.

I loved Dundee when I went there. I find this sad and beautiful all at once!

Yes Stewart... very dramatic. And sad. When did it all change?

fantastic image, you are right about the feeling of desolation i like the use of lines and contrast.
