Sig Sauer Model P228, 9mm

In the late 1980's, the Michigan State Police changed from
the revolver as the standard side-arm to the semi-auto pistol.
After extensive testing, the Sig Sauer became the new standard
issue. After a 40 hour training program officers were issued
the P226. Later the smaller model P228 was made available to
those in plain clothes so I opted for that model and carried it
until I retired in 2001. The department allowed you to purchase
your weapon at the time of retirement and that's how I got this one.
