R2400 in action

I definitely needed a new high level printer. The Epson R2400 is actualy the hit among printers.
I tried many, included HP and Epson's R1800.
To my opinion, there is no printer on the market that is able to reach this quality in printing and comparing my prints to my old argentic photos, I just forget that argentic was "that acceptable".
There is one condition on this and that's the aknowledge how to treat your photos prior to print them to reach the maximum quality. Like on everything, there are some tricks to make it just 500% better.
This results are realy better and I sold all my old film equipment in small size to stick to digital. Digital has reached a degree of quality that a classic film can't beat or challenge anymore.

For sure, I will continue with my mid format film cameras for larger posters. Mid format digital is too expensive in camera material and in Computing power you need to work with that formats.
I run allready a 3500 AMD 64 with 3 gigs of Ram to get some performance in Photoshop and I think to increase RAM to the maximum soon.

Thanks for posting these comments on the Epson 2400 - I always enjoy seeing how others have set up their equipment (including this one:http://www.pbase.com/lou_giroud/image/49863908). If you have any recommendation for what paper to use for black-and white prints, I'll greatly appreciate it. I have only tried Epson's premium semigloss paper, and it seems to be all right, but I know there are many other possibilities.
