Borde mountaineering stove

A vintage 1950s Swiss mountaineering stove, best known as the Borde Bomb. It is very simple, reliable, runs on white gas, and works great. It's only about 6inches long and this was the first trip I've taken it out for a test.

Hi..ive got one of these but it wont fire up?
Is the point of the flame spreader adjuster needle sharp?
Only i fear mine may have snapped its tip off in the burner hole?
