This old ditch from the late 1800s goes for about 3 miles from Little Grider creek to the old gold fields near Happy Camp. The water was used for hydraulic mining away the overburden to get to the gold, which is now $1000/oz. The secret ditch is a short walk from my house, and makes for a nice 3 mile trail hike with the dog.
