The fastest way to reach the Xa Loi tower and the various grotto at the top of Marble Mountains is the new elevator. There are two ways either by steps or the elevator that cost about 1.00USD for oneway. From the elevator this is an excellent view of the Dong Hai stone sculpting village atthe base of Marble Mountains.

It is very civilised of the 'powers that be' to build an elevator :-) I could have used that the day we went !
But it is a shame it doesn't 'blend in' better.

Although I found the elevator to be quite an eye-sore by contrast with the Mountain in its original state. What was worse was that it wasn't even working. By the look of it, it was usable on the day you were there.
