3-March-2008: You probably have to be a "dog person" to appreciate this gallery. It contains images of our golden retriever Maximus (aka Max). Max, unlike my daughters and other family members, never tires of being photographed. He is also pretty photogenic... Max is an enthusiastic participant in my photography hobby. He is always up for a hike in the mountains, a trip to the park or a trek into the city to find interesting subjects. As a matter of fact, he becomes extremely exicited anytime he sees me packing my gear. And when I am shooting he is patient and understanding, remaining perfectly still while I take 1 or 100 shots.

10-October-2013: Yesterday I had to send Max on ahead on a journey that he has to make without me. He was so very sick and I couldn't stand to see see him suffer. He put up a good fight, but in the end I could see in his eyes that he just wanted it to be over. We will scatter his ashes at the Chattahoochee River National Reserve and Lake Lanier, which were his two favorite places and where he and I and my family spent so many weekends together during the 11 years we were blessed to have him in our lives. I loved him so very, very much and I will miss him all the rest of my days. R.I.P. Sir Maximus.
