We flew from Egypt to Addis Ababa at the end of October 2002 and spent a month in Ethiopia. The highlight for me was travelling to the Omo Valley where we visited the Murci Tribe (aka lip plate people) which has to be one of my most memorable and surreal experinces ever. The scenery was often breath-taking and the countryside varied from mountain ranges to fertile fields. We threw nothing away as our rubbish was used as containers for carrying water by local people. It made me appreciate the luxuries of life, not to mention food and water that we take for granted.
