Exotic Utah wildlife

San Rafael Reef, Utah

My exploration of the reef exposed me to many little lizards, a couple of birds, and
some grazing cattle. The skyline cliff is Book Cliffs, about 16 miles (25km) away.

Well, this cow wouldn't be the source, she obviously in not eating road rocks.

Don, please continue to wonder, as I do not want to believe that the source is related to this form of wildlife.

I always wondered where "Rocky Road" ice cream came from.

Jason, that geologic pun deserves an award! As you observed, schist happens to be a rock-eating cow, and that's no bull. Every time I step in cow schist I console myself with the adage "schist happens."

I never knew cows ate rock. Hope you didn't step in any cow schist.

Larry, the alignment signifies oneness with the Earth, something all cattle strive for.

Funny how the cow's back is the same angle as that ravine.(?)

would that make "Skyline Arch" actually " Book Arch"? Did you leave any Book marks on the trail Dave?
