Linear depression

Delicate Arch Trail (Arches National Park, Utah)

This tiny valley runs for about an eighth of a mile, steadily gaining elevation
at a moderate rate. Here the trail appears to have been sculpted by human effort.
After hiking in the open on the slab, this change of terrain is welcome.
