Looking southwest from the north end of the mesa. Overall, the mesa is pretty flat. Exceptions:
the gravel bar at the north end (foreground and earlier photos) and the drainages and canyons
on its west side. The whole thing tilts slightly downward to the southwest, enough to allow
water to drain in that direction, creating the canyons. The next photo looks to the right.
