This view is the reason I ventured here. The main attraction was
the northeast slope of the Goose Neck (hillside just to the
right of the deep shadow on the far side of the river).

The terrain between here and the river was the other item of interest. After a
pleasant night at Shafer Camp (pictured later) I returned to this place and
scrambled down through cliffs to the purplish rock bench at the river's edge.
