This capture of the only Philippine endemic duck species in full speed flight over Candaba wetlands replaces that of the same species in my Top Endemics gallery. The extreme detail, including the beautiful wing pattern, was frozen in mid-air by the fast combo of the 1DM2 + 500 f4 L IS + Canon 1.4x TC, supported by a Manfrotto 475B tripod and 3421 gimbal head. The ideal background, good afternoon light and the eye contact are icing to the cake.

very clean shot! Seems like the Candaba wetlands is the place to be for flying-duck-photography! ;)
