Was totally surrounded by these and another kind of bird when I had coffee outside the Natural History Museum.

They've been flocking in my front yard for a couple of weeks now. Love them. Had a hard time identifying them though. I think a different picture would be useful here. M

We found in our dryer vent it was struggling to come out, but couldn't. That is, until we call vent cleaner. the bird is exhausted and when I picked up blood (about 4 good drops)come out of it. I don't know where the injury is. Do you guys think I have to let her/him out. I want him/her to gain strength, but not eating when I gave it birds seed. What is your advise. thank you, from North Laurel Maryland.

I put out regular wild bird feed (Sam's Club) in the feeder which attracts a wide variety of birds. Occasionally, a Starling or Grackle will make an appearance, but not too often. However, when I put out my "special sandwich", Starlings and Grackles immediately come out of nowhere!

The "special sandwich" is easy to make...spread Jiff peanut butter liberally over two (2) slices of Martin's potato bread. Then impress generous amounts of raisins and dried cranberries into the peanut butter. Press the two pieces of bread together and place in a suet feeder...that's it. You do that and you will have Starlings in your yard within minutes. Literally...it's like they're sitting in the trees just waiting for someone to put out the "special sandwich".

This is an invasive species on this side of the Atlantic. Extremely destructive with local birds.

We found a nest of these beautiful birds. They are really young and my sister and I a re parenting them because the momma is no where to be found. Sad but we were willing and are now parents to five pretty little babies.
