4th June 2007 - no longer almost blue.....

As you’ll know, I’ve been feeling grotty and sorry for myself, having spent a week and a half of my precious holiday feeling too ill to ‘get on with stuff’ so the painting and gardening I promised myself I’d do in my second week off has gone undone and I am, therefore blue as a blue thing so this iris is very symbolic of how I feel.

This evening though has brought about a lightening of heart because I’ve been cyber chatting with a chap who asked me for permission to use one of my pics on his blog. Now to be honest, he asked me a few days ago and because I was feeling ill, I ignored him thinking I’d respond when I felt better and I’d forgotten all about him.

So, he was a persistent chap and he found my website, emailed me and shamed me into a response. I gave him a cautious ‘yes’ when I realised he didn’t want to sell anything on his site but I was still a little concerned – I’ve been asked twice now to provide photos to people and when I’ve probed as to what they want to use them for it’s turned out to be weird religious stuff so I’ve had to say a big fat ‘no’ – I don’t mind ‘spiritual’ but don’t want to associate my work with pure religion of any kind. I have also ‘just said no’ when people have asked me to use a pic of mine free when they want to use it to promote something they will make money from. I kind of think that one is a bit cheeky.

Anyway, he sent me a link to his site and I must say, I was rather thrilled with how he’s used my pic, the site is rather good too and best of all, he’s ‘done the decent thing’ and credited me properly.

So, hop along to http://www.hooverfactory.com see my pic and see Robin’s blog – he’s made my day.

So, I’ve gone from ‘almost blue’ to starting to unfurl my colours!

Apologies for another flower.....though this is certainly better than yesterday's effort.

Last year, I was shown a sign!

I have been traveling and did not know you had not been feeling well. Glad to hear that you are better now. Take care. Will check out the site with your image.--Rene

I always liked your pic of the Hoover building and am glad it has got a bit more recognition. The only so called commercial interest in my pictures has been from people who had thought PBase was a soft touch - I send them on their bike when don't offer anything but have been honoured to supply non-profit people for free.
Kudos!
