There is something a bit bleak about the London Underground late at night after the train’s carriages have transported thousands of people around the capital all day. I must confess to feeling a bit depressed as I climbed into this carriage on the last train home to my hotel from what had, in fact, been a pretty good day.
I’ve been ‘in town’ for a client meeting and then spent the evening with some people who are important to me. I popped in on my Couz (Neil) and his other half for an hour on the way to meet my buddy. This was a good thing to do. It was great to see Neil looking as fit and healthy as I’ve ever seen him….he’s svelte and tanned. He’s also doing well in his business life at the moment too. This does belie a serious back problem, caused by falling from a lighting rig at a gig (I think it was the Mission) in the late 80s/early 90s, when he did himself serious injury. Anyway, although he finds it hard to get around, he’s looking great to me.
Then Colin – I met him for supper and a good old chinwag, which was a splendid way to round off a fab day. We sat in a wonderful courtyard in the sultry heat of an Indian Summer in London’s Hammersmith, being treated to fantastic food and as always excellent company.
The shot for today looks much bleaker than I feel but of everything I took today, I liked this best.
Last year I was in a real trough!
