Today we’ve been out admiring old things. Old cars, bikes, tractors, traction engines…..you name it, we’ve been admiring it.
Somehow at these dos though, I always love the polished chrome best.
Here is a ‘Rover badge’ from a very early Rover car – you remember Rover – they were once our proud heritage in the car industry….until they stopped! Now we don’t have much of a car industry and Rover’s name is in tatters.
The car is (for me at least) too old to be very interesting – my ‘thing’ when it comes to cars is the period between 1956 and 1964 I suppose – I’d say 1962 but DM would kill me if his precious Lurker wasn’t in my timezone!
Anyway, it’s a Rover and you can see the puffy white clouds in the blue, blue sky in the chrome.
I am again deeply disappointed to find that there wasn’t a single PA Cresta or Velox in the whole show. This is not good. Not good at all.
Now I’m ‘traction engine rally-ed out’ for this year I think. Until next season then – I’ll get back some enthusiasm then.
Last year, DM and Sarah were fondling 'the glove'.
