We don’t know who you are or why you’re pointing that thing at us but this is our road and you can just BACK OFF now!!!! Er – OK then, just going….tum te tum te tumm says me as I beat a hasty retreat….just in time too as an army of swans and geese march towards me like some sinister Orwellian army.

Shortly after this, the one in the front started stamping and I realised there were about 50-60 birds all heads up and marching my way. I fled in as dignified a manner as I could, given that I was being chased down the street by these mad beasts with a glint in their collective eye!

The shot was taken by the Thames in Reading, when I was killing a few minutes before going into a meeting in the hotel next door. I’d mistakenly thought ‘Thames=nice, genteel photo op – maybe the only one of the day’…..aw shucks – what the hell do I know – I’m just a poor frazzled bint rushing around for company and country and trying to maintain a bit of my home life while I’m about it.

Now I realise I am in a quandary – I have been meandering along, ne’er a care in the world and I have just worked out that I have only five days to decide my PAD fate – do I go on or do I quit, leaving DM with the record of 1179 days?

I’m as sure as I can be of one thing – I’m just not sure what it is yet…..

David has two PAD records under his belt (not that, as he will readily point out to anyone listening, they mean anything at all because the whole idea is years old) – the first on pbase and the longest on pbase at 1179 days when he stopped. He didn’t ever intend to keep going for so long – he intended to stop at 365 days like (I believe) everyone who ever starts a PAD gallery….he was just having so much fun when he got to the end of a year that he decided to carry on. This does NOT automatically disqualify him from being the first PAD on pbase (because laughably for that you have to STOP after a year) as some would have you believe, it just means he was ‘damn fool’ enough to take another couple of years of punishment before stopping.

So, one of his records is indisputable and cannot be taken from him – the other - well, I can take it from him in a few days time….if I want to – I’m on 1174 today. What do I do? I have absolutely NO idea….

Last year I was enjoying cider with roadies!!!!!! (And a great joy it was too!)
