Ah, my very own splatter movie comes to town!
I have been finishing off my chess pics tonight (yep – a week off when I was supposed to be finishing them saw me ignore the task completely rather than get on with it), so tonight, once again, I’m up against it because I NEEDED to finish the shoot.
This, by the way, isn’t it – I wouldn’t dare to suggest that my company uses such a tasteless image for its campaign.
The outpouring of my own imagination, following on from my terror bite of the week before last, spawned this photo. I still had some of my ‘blood’ in my studio and so here it is.
Just like a game of chess we plan and combat our enemies. We set strategies (our grand plan) and we fight our battles. Ours have been long and arduous. A whole year has passed since the events that spelled the end of our life in the South East as we knew it. Two years have passed since the ‘beginning of the end’.
It’s not always been possible to win through strategic means so we’ve had to get down and dirty and tough it out in tactical battles. Where we’ve not been able to succeed through our brains, we’ve resorted to our brawn and have dug our claws in, tussling and fighting for grim death.
It’s been hard. I have thought many times that we may not make it, either our plan or indeed whether we as human beings could survive more and more blows. We have even fought between ourselves, not managing to keep our eyes outwards looking for the real enemy.
Now we see that some of our battles are won. I feel sure that they won’t be our last. We still have some more things to put into place and we will still have to get down and dirty on some occasions.
This is the time for us to regroup, work out where we are and what we have got. It is time for us to recharge our batteries, rebuild our resources and start to plan for a future that will hopefully have less struggle and more pleasures than the recent past. It is time for us to rekindle our internal flames....I think mine is alive and a bit of fanning will make it burst forth again.
Our last ‘big battle’ is won. The king of our opposition is dead. I smell hope for the future. We are strong.
Last year, it was my Lilywhites doing battle....oh and me battling salmonella
